Child and Youth Events

We are excited to introduce the theme for this year’s Youth Camp for Leaders in Training (LITs): Avengers Assemble: The Avenger vs The Adversary.  Marvel’s Avenger characters are typically selfless and genuinely good people. They cause change and risk their lives to save others. Jesus embodies these qualities perfectly; he is the greatest Avenger! Over three days youth will learn leadership skills such as communication, leading games, safety practices when overseeing children, and much more. Campers start the day with worship music and a daily bible message: “Who is Jesus?” “Who is the Adversary?” and “How do I walk with Jesus?” Each day the group will go on an outing together as a team building activity to bowling, the beach and archery lessons. We hope that youth campers grow in their faith and in their confidence as leaders!

We welcome all youth to sign up as LIT Helpers at St. Giles’ VBS the week after Youth Camp (August 18-22). There is a separate form to complete if your child would like to be an LIT Helper at our “True North” VBS. Note: We sign hours for high school students (including those going into Grade 9).

We know that some youth aren’t available to attend our Youth Camp training. You are still invited to be an LIT Helper at camp! There is a form to complete titled “LIT Volunteer Form.” It is mandatory that LIT Helpers attend one of the available training dates ahead of VBS camp. We want to ensure that all volunteers know our safety practices and what to expect from the camp theme and setup.
