Recent Passing – Malcolm Nichols

MALCOLM VERNE NICHOLS
October 28, 1921 – June 28, 2016
At Meadowview Villa Petrolia, a wonderful life ended on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 when Malcolm Nichols died peacefully, age 94, with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Nichols for 66 years, dear father to Brian Nichols, Paula Raychert and her husband Ken, and adored grandfather to Kristin and Kaitlin Raychert, all of Alberta.

Born in Sarnia, Malcolm was the son of Frederick and Coral Nichols. He is survived by his sister Mazie Brereton and several remarkable nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Maxine McKay and Madeline Mudge.

A dyed-in-the-wool … anchor in a stormy sea, Malcolm was very devoted to his extended family and friends. This measure twice, cut once sort of guy became a long serving skilled craftsman for Mac-Craft Boat Works naval construction through WWII as well as Imperial Oil where his 45 year career began in 1941. Equally, his kind and adventurous spirit brought forth a lifetime of experiences and good friends around the world. He will be missed.

The family is very grateful for the care and compassion shown by Dr Susan Mather and the outstanding team of nurses, caregivers and staff at Meadowview Villa, and, all personal care workers from Bayshore Home Health in recent years. In lieu of flowers, please celebrate this life lived by donating to Médecins Sans Frontières – Doctors Without Borders or a charity or cause of your own.
